It's summer... it's hot... everybody in the pool!
The Board wishes everyone a fun and exciting Summer... and a reminder to parents to always keep an eye on your children (regardless of their age), they are your most precious gift.
What's New in 2010!
Come visit and check out our 2010 improvements. A little snow did not stop our progress! The new building is up.... with a warming kitchen, members' refrigerator, microwave, filtered water, vending machines, and hot water. Work continues on the interior. A new black perimeter fence has been installed. Other major improvements scheduled before opening day: constructing the new grill, siding the main building, reroofing and siding the maintenance shed... to name a few!

Float Nights - Saturdays 6 - 8pm
Come join the fun! The diving well is closed to make room for fins, flippers, noodles, and floats. Please be mindful of the size of your float/tube - oversized floats/tubes will not be allowed if children can get trapped under them! The Board and/or the lifeguards can limit the size of the float if they feel it is unsafe to our membership and guests. Please remember children of all sizes and ages will be sharing the pool during this fun time - excessive rowdiness and rough play will not be tolerated.
Swim Team Registration
Swim practice starts May 17,2010. If you are interested in joining TVWRA Tiger Sharks or have any questions about the 2010 season, please contact Jeff Peterson at 740-7986.
Registration to join the Tiger Shark's this season is underway. Questions, contact Kristi Trevillian or Cheri/Jeff Peterson. Completed registrations and swim team fees can be dropped off at the pool's Open House Saturday or Sunday... or taken to Cheri/Jeff Peterson, 1611 Morshedi Court, Henrico, VA 23238.

Tennis Update
Dust off that racquet and sign up for the 2010 TVWRA tennis ladder! We would like to have enough participants to do a men's, women's and youth ladder (We will have both a boys and girls ladder. In addition, we may also do youth age divisions to make it more competitive. However, this will depend on the number of sign-ups!). The youth ladder is for players 16 and under. Please sign up in June when we post the ladders. Sign up sheets will be located near the recreation bulletin board at the pool (by the men's restroom). Check out the Challenge Rules page for ladder rules. Email Carter Chapman if you have any questions.
Thursday night tennis - come join us each Thursday night at 6:00pm for doubles tennis. All skill levels are welcome, so don't be shy if you haven’t played in a while. Email Carter if you want to get on the weekly email list for Thursday tennis, as we sometimes have to change the day to Wednesday if there is a conflict with a swim meet.
Do you have a son or daughter who wants to learn the game of tennis? Do you need to brush up on your strokes? If so, we have a member, Jeff Peterson, who offers tennis lessons. Please see the bulletin board at the pool, for Jeff's contact information.

Horseshoe Update
We had a fantastic turnout each weekend afternoon for horseshoes in 2009. We know 2010 will be even better! Anyone who would like to pitch shoes is encouraged to join us on the hill for a few games - the more the merrier!! Also, for those members that are not aware, the horseshoes and rakes are located in the storage shed. Please see one of the guards or board members if you need them.
Since we are starting a tennis ladder, we didn't want the horseshoes to feel left out! There will be a sign-up sheet for a team horseshoe ladder as well near the recreation bulletin board at the pool. This will be for men and women age 16 and up. If we get enough interest we will have a separate men's and women's ladder. Sign ups are in June once the ladders are posted.
Unfortunately, some of the neighborhood kids like to use the boulders by the horseshoe pits as targets for glass bottles. Although we try our best to clean up the glass, we strongly encourage parents not to let their children near the horseshoe area unless they have shoes on.

Coming Soon! Independence Day Cookout! Support our TVWRA Tiger Sharks Family Nights! July 3, July 24, July 31! Annual Surf & Turf Extravaganza! Swim Team Banquet! Adult Water Volleyball!
Sunday, July 4 - Noon until 2pm. Social Committee provides burgers, dogs, a special grilled meat, beans, chips and lemonade. $4 per plate. Please bring a side dish or desert that serves at least four people. We will need help setting up, cooking, and cleaning up!!! Then, starting at 2:30 pm - Family Fun, Games & Contests.

Glory Days Receipts - Save your food receipts every time you dine at Glory Days. Turn them into the box at the front desk. TVWRA will get a portion of all food items sold on the receipt!
